The Stratford 47 Group was formed in 2001 with aim of preserving a 47 that was allocated to the former Stratford TMD in East London. Once a familiar sight on the former Eastern Region of British Rail in the 1970s & 1980s.

Stratford 47 Group are the proud owners of 47580 County of Essex which is Network Rail registered mainline loco and 47367 & 47596 Aldeburgh Festival based at Mid Norfolk Railway.

Keeping 47367 & 47596 to working order along with 47580 running on the mainline will be a big undertaking that will take lots of time and dedication therefore new members and donations are most welcome.
